On a mountain he sits, not of gold but of shit
through the blood he can look, see the life that he took
From council of one
He'll decide when he's done with the innocent
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
On his face is a map of the world
(A map of the world)
From yesterday, it's coming!
From yesterday, the fear!
From yesterday, it calls him
But he doesn't want to read the message
To me, these lyrics are about a man who killed a young soldier during war. He puts him self on mental trial, asking himself did I do wrong?
On his face is a map of the world seems to represent the fact that he was overseas and traveling the world so he has seen it all and done it all.
The idea of "From yesterday, it's calling" and so on
It could be his memories of war coming back to haunt him, but him not wanting to read the message is him refusing to think back to those horrible times
